{"id":314,"date":"2011-12-23T09:35:43","date_gmt":"2011-12-23T14:35:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/garykahn.net\/yoga\/?p=314"},"modified":"2016-04-10T17:44:13","modified_gmt":"2016-04-10T21:44:13","slug":"yin-yoga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/garykahn.net\/yoga\/2011\/12\/yin-yoga\/","title":{"rendered":"Who&#8217;s Yin for a Yoga Vacation?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tammy,<\/p>\n<p>Today I went to your yin a\/k\/a happy hips class.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of class you played a song that made us feel like we were in exotic Costa Rica.\u00a0 Wow!\u00a0 I remembered that you had scheduled a yoga trip there.\u00a0 I had never heard of a commercial in a yoga class before and I am sure the creators of yoga were rolling over in their graves.\u00a0 Those old guys; how were there hips?\u00a0 I didn\u2019t care about the subliminal message; I loved the music as my mind went on a scenic meditation that yoga hadn\u2019t yet come close to delivering.<\/p>\n<p>Then it came time to get hip and I\u2019m not talking Edward Burns type hip.\u00a0 You started with a three minute king pigeon.\u00a0 My hips were hemorrhaging more than an alcoholic with the DTs.\u00a0 A short time later it was the firefly pose.\u00a0 The hips were burning and screaming like the towering inferno.\u00a0 In the frog position I wanted to leap right the heck out the back door into a pool of soothing jello.\u00a0 Why do you call it happy hips?<\/p>\n<p>As far as your yoga vacation in Costa Rica, the water skiing, zip lining, and snorkeling, really sound like a dream.\u00a0 For what we now know will be killer yoga, I am not yet ready to have my remains sent back to the States in a yoga body bag.<\/p>\n<p>Gary Kahn<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tammy, Today I went to your yin a\/k\/a happy hips class.
