Tammy,<\/p>\n
Last week I met this woman at a public speaking class.\u00a0 She was telling me she met a small business management consultant.\u00a0 She rattled on, \u201cThis businesswoman really took the time to get to know me.\u00a0 She cares about me and I\u2019m in my 50\u2019s.\u00a0 With all the age and sexual discrimination that goes on I\u2019m thrilled to have her believe in me.\u201d\u00a0 I didn\u2019t understand why she was spilling her guts to me.\u00a0 I\u2019m not her best friend, a shrink, nor even such a consoling stranger (she forgot to brush her hair and revealed to me that she had just been tried and convicted for driving under the influence).\u00a0 She pushed the consultant\u2019s card into my hand.\u00a0 The teacher marched in and started speaking so I put the card in my pocket.<\/p>\n
When I went to bed that night I emptied my pockets and was throwing out the business card when I noticed something.\u00a0 I put the card up to the light and saw the white outline of two humans pointed toward each other.\u00a0 They had sort of folded themselves over, slumped in half.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t figure it out.\u00a0 What were they doing?\u00a0 This is not some athletic trainer\u2019s card, not that of a prayer group, nor even an s & m club card.\u00a0 I came back an hour later and realized one leg was behind each person, the elbows were on the ground and the head was almost floor level too.\u00a0 Hey!\u00a0 That\u2019s the yoga \u201cpigeon pose.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since the average business person would not figure this card out, I wondered if this was a signal.\u00a0 Maybe this symbol was a covert code for an undercover CIA operation.\u00a0 This is how they recruit, right?\u00a0 Not!\u00a0 Obviously I\u2019ve been watching too much Homeland lately.\u00a0 More than likely this was a female pimp of some sort secretly inviting me into a strange men\u2019s club.\u00a0 They must figure if you recognize a sophisticated pose from a traditional women\u2019s activity, you are probably into some funky stuff.\u00a0 That’s not for me, not that there\u2019s anything wrong with that.\u00a0 Needless to say, I don\u2019t think I\u2019m going back to that public speaking class again.\u00a0 What do I do that makes me look like such a mark?<\/p>\n
